INTOXICATING
by Sorana Lucia Salomeia

Would it be nice to cuddle alone,
To live on your own and be free?
Would it be nice to be cautious
If you and I are still ourselves?
Would it be nice to wake up frozen
In a bed that was warmed up by your faith?
Would it be nice to feel elated
And to do as you please
In quiet and peace?
Maybe it is so that it's not the same with you.
Say what you thought yourself
And do think before saying…
When the rain pours down
From the darkness in the sky's mirrors,
Then I go alone
To live a life in my dreams
About all that I did and did not do.
In gutters runs the rain in rapid streams
Creating, in my memory,
The image of the time that runs away.
I pull up a try,
I try to forget
And suddenly it stands clear in a second
That it could be nice to go and dream.
But life is to be enjoyed now, at this moment.
One life in the sun by the sea and the shores…
There tepid winds come to me and there I stand.
It is one life in the sun
And whatever happens
The waves come and go and leave no trace.
Never will I look back;
The future, as I see it, is bright and free
And never, never more will I deny
What the moment gives of colour and fantasy.
In the night, down to the river I sense freedom for a while.
There, the taste of almond-bloom and the mould poppy kisses
Sweetens my mouth and lips.
Word-loosely I sing under the tree
In the night of the lovely day
When I rest without dreaming and I make myself free -
A meagre try.
For me, far off under the silvery moon,
The night is already resting heavily.
The fog rises under the sky
And the song dies in the grounds.
Heather, offer me a cup of your sweet -bitter wine,
Give me the sky above
And crush the glass in my window
Before the last stars die.
