You hear my laughter in the night,
You see me smiling in the light. Hiding tears is my best art, I can smile with broken heart. But even If I smile with glee, Sorrow shadows deep with me. Come and find me deep inside, I’m no angel, I’m no child, I’m not even Clementine. I’m just different from this Time. …………………………………………………….. The innocence that shelters in my eyes Makes my soul the master of disguise. I may be true, and may believe in goodness, But this angel has been filled with sadness By superficial deeds of realism, That caught my wings and won’t release them. That won’t let me achieve my idealism. Impulsive and unpredictable, but not a child, I know extremes, no path is mild, I might even sound foolish from outside. And even gullible on occasion, thoughtless, Trusting that in every human there is kindness. I should act my real age among corps in a society that’s civil, Becoming cold and bitter, acknowledging the evil. Out of this Times, beyond my Time, I might be angel, I sure am child. I seem angel lost in a world where I don’t belong, I’ve been a child for much too long. ………………………………………………………. So don’t forget to stop and wonder, Whether a smile has something under. Some disappointment, anger, pain, A lot of sadness, a soul with a big stain. But if the smile’s indeed sincere, Not fearing Love has made it clear, That it’s more important Love to give, Then to be hurt by It when you believed. I’ll give you reason out of nothing, a reason blind, For your smile from this world not to hide. The faith and hope have overcome The thought of darkness that may come. Though the Time that’s mine has not yet come.
