They chopped off your roots,
And you are still on the ground. Where will you get your sap? Whence? Whence? Always asking, You wrapped yourself around the trunk of a tree... The sun delighted you the winds whipped you, You resisted through his roots, He resisted through your enamored off-springs. Until one day, When the son of Zeus, furious, Frowned his eyebrows; Heavy clouds came, Brought by the wind... The storm overpowered the tall tree. Oh,the roots! you screamed, Worried about your own existence.
