I know I've never met you,
So it will be pretty hard To say what needs saying. Please don't pay me disregard. I was sick with cancer once, But I found it pretty quick. Some of us have all the luck, I'm so sorry that you're sick. I'll never know how it feels To know the end is coming. But please hold on for a bit, Brad's having trouble drumming. His bounce, which once was jumpy, Has all but faded away. His laughing smile, I can't see. Is he waiting for your day? This poem may never help you, And it may never help me. I can't say what needs saying With this rhyming harmony. So from here on I'll free verse if you don't mind I'd hate to break your flow But worse things can happen If we, too soon, let go. (Sorry, but I couldn't help but rhyme It was just too good of a setup.) Know that I pray for you Each and every day to get better to grow stronger that God will make this easier on you on Brad Who knows? Maybe someday we'll compare scars.
