I drove all night to find
A rose for you Red, sweet and wild A rose of the kind You cannot buy anywhere That grows amongst berries and thyme With a perfume that kills Like the touch of your skin Like the way you caress the air With your hand when you sing I drove all night to steal A rose for you Red like the passion that drives us insane Sweet like your words that heal My soul when I miss you Quiet like the night I search every garden in vain The moon is my guide You people, go to sleep! I'll do no harm, just let me seek I drove all night to see The rose I want for you Curious, she looks at me It breaks my heart to take her away To you, where she must die Quick, I cannot stay! Now in my hand, she knows why: For a moment she'll be loved Then time will take from her and us Beauty and life which do not last Copyright Sydney Krivenko GISC. no. 2052924 2006
