like vampires drawing your blood at night,
witches’ spell of every day,
distorted image in mocking mirrors
grinning triumphantly….
Patience and experience
finally walk side by side,
long nights spent pondering
about what you missed
and forever asking
the fruitless question why
The body slowing while your mind
is racing ahead
after excitement and thrill,
the need is so great
to show how young you feel
until one day you may find
