Working to build
a new life for myself I find like ancient people I search among the ruins for stones that can still be used salvaged to create something new lasting solid. In turning over debris I found so many memories of you unbroken or damaged still bright and hopefull and sat down to weep. Even if I turn away now you will haunt me. Even if you understood the changes and upsets and horrors I've been through I would have little hope you would care. I'll find the stones to build again and secretly pray that under some forgotten shard still lies the golden key that opens the way back to you your voice your smile your tender touch. I may never find it but even so I'll set these memories aside in reverance to treasure if the nights are cold in this empty place I'll build alone
