This contest is for the writers from the following age categories:

4-6 years
7-10 years
11-14 years
15-19 years
The texts can be written in Romanian, English, French, German, Italian or Spanish for the following sections:

■ Poetry (2 texts for 6-7 years, an acrostic for 7-10 years, a text for 11-14 years and 15-19)
■ Prose (one text, 2-4 pages)
■ Drama (one text of 3-5 pages)
■ Free essay (one text, 2-3 pages)

1. 1st section, POETRY
The authors will send poetry in free verse, unpublished, respecting the following criteria, on age groups:
a) Two poems having the theme “What I like” and “What I don’t like” (4-6 years);
b) An acrostic having the title” The orchard with fireflies”(7-10 years);
c) A poem, from the following lyrics: I was with my friends/ drawing an anchor
with my finger on the wet table”. (11-14 years and 15-19 years)
2. 2nd section, PROSE
The authors will send:
a) A story having the following characters: a leaf, a flower, a cloud, a swallow, a cat, a hedgehog, a fairy, (4-6 years), written (dictated) by many children.
b) A prose of 1-2 pages from the following fragment: As soon as I opened the door…(7-10 years);
c) A sparrow enters, rustling, the uncovered barrel from the room, under the window, and disappears from my sight; I only hear the flounder of the feathers in the empty barrel (for 11-14 years).
d) 3-5 pages of a diary, for 15-19 years.
3. 3rd section, DRAMA (one text of 3-5 pages, free choice)
4. 4th. section, ESSAY- (only for 15-19 years, one text, 2-3 pages).
We will receive only unpublished essays, based on the work of Radu Petrescu
The literary compositions will be typed in Times New Roman 12, A4, single spaced, borders of 20 mm, and will be sent until the 1st of May 2011, in a single attachment that will contain the name, age, country and city of the contestant and also the section for which he/she is sending, at the following e-mails:

2. [email protected] , for 15-19 years (Romanian, all sections)
4. [email protected] , (for English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, all age groups, all sections)

The first page of the attached document will contain the application paper and the following pages will contain the texts.
In the SUBJECT field, the author will write: THE FIRST AND THE LAST NAME OF THE CONTESTANT, THE SECTION AND THE AGE GROUP.

The “Subject” section will contain the name, the section and group age.

The deadline for all the sections is May, 1st.2011.

No participation fee required!

The jury consists of writers, literary critics and teachers.
Diplomas for the big prize, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes and mentions to each group category and also participation diplomas will be given.
The diplomas will be sent by e-mail until the 15th of June 2011.
