Nevertheless, I’ll never let my heart
So passionate to love again and hate, So calm to change, so happy to betray, So wind to blow, so sun to shine again. I’ll let the leaves to cover tones of dust, To seal with wax the sorrow of the night, To let my cave of wishes and desires To rotten down the heat of bloody skies. However in my heart I shall conceive The beauties of the world as they were mine, The masterpiece of words as it was lie, The tears of heaven heathen as can be. Once and for all, I’ll learn to say a ‘No!’ To happiness so coldly well-subdued Or joy of lust so merely announced. Nevertheless the rain of bloody drops Shall wash away my mind and sinful body So keen in fighting back the rays of light Until the icons on the walls have wept Of pain and strive as in a cruel march While all the kids with flowers start to sing: ‘O let the Light! O let the Light come in!’
