I wish this ladder stood so high
Just high enough to reach your world, Cause in my own...I’m just a lie And to nobody I’ve been told. I’ve traded smiles for a dream, And held back every single tear The crying of the unforeseen Still whispers softly to my ear… That unaware of this enclosure, I started running for that dream, I ran until I met the wall, And saw the fool that I have been. Sometimes a smile breaks outside Wearing its burden rather shy, Not knowing what it should be like It crawls back in and starts to cry. How can I reach the other side? When there is nothing else but this? Just being stuck on the inside, With far too many things to miss. And once you taste the thrill it gives, Both peace and rest become forbidden Through lost and restless eyes it lives, Letting you know that you’ve been bitten. At first it doesn’t seem like chaos, It is more like a thread of life Until it suddenly gets cold, And stabs you blindly with a knife. And then you frightened feel the ground, Running so fast under your feet… Unleash your hate upon the sound That lighted fire in the pit. The pit you hold as only shelter, From what keeps lurking on outside… A face, a look able to plunder Your bit of sanity and pride. There is no smoke without a fire, Like there’s no chaos without peace, Too many dreams of one desire Have merged together into this.
