Childhood – Between Heaven and Earth
I bathe my sight in heavenly light! I was a child The winding world is spinning clouds Towards my child steps I run, I creep from the eyes of the spinner; I turn to right, the sky’s following me. I turn to left, it’s still following me. It scares me…and I laugh! I was a child. Through my laughter The reel spins light That took the shape o Christ – I become Him I pour myself On vales and mountains I quiet The troubled waves Even the steps of the heavenly smokes For the joy of light that I feel I don’t understand It is struggling in my chest But in hers As the leaf hugs The wine’s sap Feeling it in the innocent fruit. I’m still a child With agapian locks.
