As a teacher you might think that you have good eyes:
whilst everybody was discovering pi this dark haired boy drew a circle with Freddy Mercury in it. I just couldn't see it coming. All the girls were giggling like tiny bells on the lambs neck he was looking through them as through a clear window and the tune was making his eyes dance and yellow. We all grow up and all the objects around us don't. On the airport she was giving away smiles to everybody, even to the hungarian clerk and to the stars of the eu. This is when I started to shrink and so did my parents, I found them thin and wobbly, grass at their feet begging to be pet, their shadows stretching like two railway tracks never to meet again. They both had their hands bare and useless, at times barking at each other in a foreign language, their bedroom stank of moths and dried skin. Even the icon on the wall closed her eyes, dissaprovingly. Suddenly, the garden has become an Noah's ark rescuing less and less of anything. Only this time my belly was still full.
