With a reflex I draw the shutters
/ some people say that death always comes with the evening train/ as if one lonely day will happen the same endlessly / some say that we are a huge body of our silent God/ If I close my eyes the world would become a word from where I am born each time the same each time ditto / some people say that you should keep mum for years in sequence to utter then an essential word/ ……………………………………………………………… dear Mutti here is evening at you late or early anyway is not in the morning the end of the world has not been announced today at TV so this poem is useless my hands are silent and angry they’re not able to rest clumsy on your shoulder anymore at winter I’ll buy them long gloves till the elbows and a muff till then I laugh stupidly much and disgustingly from my peal a mountain will arise which will throb up to the sky with the sureness I had at my birth I knew I came just to write you these letters with mute commas my hands are angry I can’t find words to caress they don’t want to wait the evening train and there’s nobody and nothing to protect them now (translated by Marius Surleac)
