today i saw an old and deaf-mute woman
I understood her, from the signs she was doing
when speaking to another old woman

to live a life without hearing sounds
is worse than sleeping without dreams
is worse than tasting some goodness without feeling their relish

later there came in an old and blind man
his appearance stand me up in a moment
like some strong current touched me
he made a movement in my direction
and gave me a smile

to live a life without seeing the green of grass
children's smile
or sparkle of eyes
is worse than being deaf-mute
is worse than walking in a winter morning
with make-up on your face
and the tears involuntarily fill up your eyes
with a swarty and brittle crust
and to want to grab your eyes
but to step on a line
like it would be an easy day of summer

i don't know what is worse
in this world
to be born or to die
